WOYWW

No, not a new blog, just a new title because it makes me too sad to see the dear departed Inky Cat on the title.  One of the reasons I haven't blogged anything since last Tuesday.  Just couldn't stand to have to think about changing stuff on here.  But we must move on and I'm trying.  Still really difficult, I keep looking for my Inky Cat to be on his spot on the sofa when I go into the living room.  And I do miss being woken up 50 times from about 4am to 6am.
SO!  Onto the desk... we have stamps that I removed from the wood blocks because I was running out of space.  At the time I just stuck them onto packing-taped pieces of card stock with removable adhesive, or card stock that I had covered with some Xyron removable (hah!) adhesive.  Yeah, not the best options.  Didja know that the removable doesn't stay removable after about a year?  Sticks right onto the backs of those stamps.  Especially the ones that still had the foam padding on them...yeah some of them had "accidents" and the foam came off too...   So I've been going through and painting the backs of the stamps with Aleen's Tack-it Over & Over glue.  And that seems to work.  I'll let you know in another year how that works out for me...  Back to painting stamps and browsing through the desks for me!  if you don't know what WOYWW is, hop on over to Julia's for an explanation and have a lovely Wednesday!

  2. Hi Becky - thanks for commenting on my desk!! I forgot to write about the pokey tool ("Sew Easy" by name!) - have edited my blog post now. It's quite good really, but not for me, I'm too finicky in my work!!

I see your post below about Inky Cat - I am sorry.

  4. I am so sorry to read of the loss of your cat, 19 was a very good age but it still doesn't prepare us for the emptyness that remains after they are gone. Good Luck with the removing of the stamps and hope the new idea proves a winner! Annette #5

  6. Our animal friends do take over our hearts, and no matter how prepared we think we are to lose them, it still hurts and we never forget.

I do not envy you trying to clean all that gunge off the back of your stamps - a very lengthy job I think. do take time out in the middle to play with them as well.

  7. I'm sorry to hear about your cat x

You've done well to remove all that rubber from the wooden blocks, don't think I could face that! Good luck with the new adhesive.

  10. I am so sorry about Inky Cat. I still remember from my childhood, Blackie, who was so intelligent. She had an accident and the doctor convinced my sisters and me to put her to sleep because a cat without her back legs wouldn't be happy not being able to run around. She was in a box lifting herself with her front paws when I talked to her explaining our decision. After I said goodbye, she put her paws down as if to say I'm ready. I believe I'll see Blackie in heaven. Patsy from

  11. Good work with the stamps! Really sorry about Inky Cat- it's awful to lose them, no different to losing a person. Whoever you love, be it person or pet, its sad. Love to you, Shaz #148

  12. Which job of removing wooden blocks from the stamps. I tested a couple but they get so sticky on the back. I use Tack'n'Peel why I do not have any EZ-foam (and I do not want back is sticky). It's so nice to see other people's scrapbooking room.

  13. So sorry to hear about pussins....it's so difficult, you become so attached. I've heard quite a few people removing their stamps from the blocks due to space. Haven't taken the leap yet. TFS

  15. Thank you for stopping by my blog, Becky! My condolences on the passing our your friend. I totally understand, at the same age as yours, my cat really quickly became ill and passed away. It was very hard. Hang in there.
